ABOUT THE EVENT

WHAT IS NIGHT AT THE POINT?

The spectacular starlit concert series continues—now in Hobart.

Be swept away by some of the biggest names in music, live under the stars on The Wrest Point Lawns. With the River Derwent glistening nearby and kunanyi / Mount Wellington as a backdrop, it’s a premium open-air experience unlike anything else in Tasmania.

Gates to the event site will open at 6:00pm

CAN I BUY MERCHANDISE AT NIGHT AT THE POINT?

Of course! There will be a great selection of artist and Night at The Point merchandise for purchase at the event.

SECURITY / BAG CHECK

At the discretion of our approved Security Team you may be requested to undertake a bag search.

ARE FOOD AND BEVERAGES AVAILABLE AT THE SHOW?

Absolutely! A full bar with a selection of beer, wine and spirits will be available. Patrons can also purchase food from some local vendors or book dinner at one of Wrest Point’s many restaurants. We encourage patrons to come to the site prior to showtime to enjoy what is on offer.

Empty re-usable water bottles are permitted (water stations are available on site).

Food and beverages are not permitted to be brought into the event site.

ARE THERE SPECIAL EFFECTS THAT OCCUR DURING THE SHOW?

Night at The Point may use strobe lighting as well as theatrical smoke throughout some performances.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT’S RAINING ON SHOW DAY?

Night at The Point is an outdoor event. Please note the performances will proceed unless extreme weather is a threat to patrons, staff or performers safety at Night at The Point during showtime. If it is raining you should expect the performance to proceed as scheduled.

We strongly recommend you come prepared with wet weather gear, raincoats and ponchos.

There will be ponchos available at our merchandise outlet. Night at The Point will provide as much notice as possible regarding any changes to performances due to extreme weather, however as weather conditions are unpredictable this status may change at any time so please keep an eye on our facebook page and instagram page for the most up to date information. The decision to delay or cancel a show is made by the Promoter on-site and can be made at any time up to or during the performance.

Parking options?

If you are going to drive we ask that you have a designated driver and to car pool. We want every seat in your car taken! Parking will be available at the University of Tasmania in addition to Wrest Point. We recommend customers travelling from south of Hobart travel via Channel Highway through Taroona.

WHEN DO TICKETS GO ON-SALE AND HOW MUCH ARE THEY?

Presale starts 9am Monday 28 July with general release 9am Friday 1 August.

WHEN DO I RECEIVE MY TICKETS?

  2. Tap My Events to find your event, view your seat locations, barcodes and more.
  3. We recommend adding your tickets to your mobile wallet so that you’ll always have your ticket on hand — even without internet connection.

DO CHILDREN GET IN FOR FREE?

Night at The Point is an All Ages event and tickets start from $109. Check out the ticket options. Children aged 3 and under will be able to attend for free with any ticket holding adult.

There is a limited amount of accessibility parking for allocation with a valid mobility parking permit.

WILL THERE BE AN ACCESSIBILITY VIEWING AREA FOR PEOPLE WITH A DISABILITY?

EVENT RULES

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

  • ID – this is an all ages event however you must present your ID when asked to validate age (acceptable forms of identification are DRIVERS LICENCE, PASSPORT, AUSTRALIA POST KEYPASS and PROOF OF AGE CARD. This is in accordance with liquor licensing laws).
  • If you have any medication please ensure it is clearly labelled with prescription details.
  • Night at The Point is cashless, so please bring a credit or debit card for purchases.
  • Your ticket.
  • The concert is set outdoors, so sun protection for afternoon shows, (hat and sunscreen) is recommended. Likewise for evening shows we suggest warm clothing is a good idea as the sun drops.
  • If it looks like rain, bring along wet weather gear, ponchos will be available for purchase if you forget your wet weather gear.

WHAT SHOULDN’T I BRING?

  • Any bags or backpacks over 40x40cm, pets (excluding service animals), director/picnic chairs, umbrellas, selfie sticks, an esky, glass, alcohol or drugs, weapons (including pocket knives), fireworks and anything flammable or deemed dangerous. Patrons found with these items will have them confiscated on entry.
  • Food and Beverages will not be allowed to be brought into the precinct. We have a variety of local suppliers on site who will be selling food and drink throughout the duration of the evening.
  • Professional camera equipment will be held for the duration of the event. For media enquiries and permitted requests for approved content capture please reach out to info@nightatthepoint.com.au.
  • Umbrellas will not be allowed into the venue.
  • Picnic blankets will not be allowed into the venue.

WHAT IS PERMITTED?

  • Strollers/Prams and wheelchairs are permitted.
  • Mobile phones are permitted however please be respectful of other guests and try to live in the moment of the performances.
  • Empty re-usable water bottles (water stations are available on site).

NO SMOKING

Smoking, including vaping, is not permitted anywhere within the event precinct.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

Entry to Night at The Point is subject to our Conditions of Entry.

ARE UNDER 18’S ALLOWED IN ALL AREAS OF NIGHT AT THE POINT?

Night at The Point is an all ages event, however, people under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Under 18’s are permitted in most of the sections of the site, however they are not permitted in the licensed bar areas.

Event personnel will be able to assist if you are unsure which areas are for 18+ guests only – depends on above
